Mikel Baxter

Background:

Originally from Madison, IN, Mikel first moved to Montana in 2000. Prior to moving Mikel
worked in a psychiatric hospital which fueled her desire of a career in mental health. Mikel was able to begin her career path by enrolling at Salish Kootenai College in which she earned her bachelors in psychology. Shortly after Mikel enrolled in the masters of social work program at Walla Walla University. While working on her master’s degree Mikel worked in the Polson middle school in the Community-based Services (CSCT) which allowed her to work with students, parents, and faculty in a therapeutic setting. Mikel came to St. Luke and assumed a case manager role while finishing her MSW. Mikel completed her degree in clinical social work and is currently seeing patients in Polson and Ronan.

In her down time Mikel enjoys being on the lakes and rivers paddle boarding, fishing, hiking and spending time with family and friends as well as catching a movie or reading a good book.
