Quality Informatics Specialist

 

St. Luke Community Healthcare is looking for a motivated self-started to join our IT team. The Quality Informatics Specialist (QIS) will provide consultation for and administration of information technology that impacts the measurement and reporting of clinical quality data. The right candidate will serve as a key lead the management of quality improvement projects and workflow improvement. The Quality Informatics Specialist should have excellent communication skills in order to work with clinical departments, IT, and the Quality Improvement (QI) Coordinator to link technology, patient care, and information management and will be responsible for larger, more complex work assignments.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
• Managing projects pertaining to quality, value-based purchasing and data analytics
• Monitors and works with IT to improve accuracy and remove variation of data collected in within Quality Dashboards
• Build SQL reports, as needed
• Works collaboratively with the QI Coordinator
• Interprets clinical and IT workflows
• Regularly reviews literature to identify enhancements to the quality improvement reports and specification changes
• Interpret specifications from quality reporting entities and apply to facility process to ensure compliance is achieved
• Acts as an educator by defining & helping with the design and use of reports
• Is an active committee member on various QI Committees
• Reports all quality metrics in the absence of the QI Coordinator
• Adheres to CLEAR principle of customer service (Connect, Listen, Explain, Ask, Reconnect)
KNOWLEDGE/SKILL/EXPERIENCE
• Clinical credentials (RN, BSN, LPN, CST, EMT-P, etc.) or Information Technology, or Health Information Technology credentials, preferred
• Demonstrated leadership qualities with exceptional oral and written communication skills required
• Experience with Hospital and Ambulatory EMRs, Meditech Preferred.
• MS SQL Scripting and Report writing Experience
• Current knowledge of workflow and data mapping
• Possesses expert investigation skills, shows attention to detail, accuracy and ability to manage and prioritize multiple tasks
• Possesses knowledge of and able to apply process improvement methodologies to improve outcomes
• Ability to communicate with a diverse group of individuals, facilitating change processes and methodologies
• Familiar with value-based purchasing requirements; particularly under MACRA and as required by an Accountable Care Organization
